Evaluating your Students examines the area of testing and evaluating in a problem-solving way. It presents the problems of why, when and how to evaluate; it analyses the criteria that make a test 'good' and helps you to apply these to your own testing.

The book does this through an examination of current popular test types, encouraging teachers to adapt these to their own situations. As well as the traditional focus on the final written task, it also looks at other options, such as evaluating oral skills and continuous assessment.

Andy Baxter has been involved in teaching EFL and in teacher training since 1979. He has worked in Spain, Portugal, the United Arab Emirates, Soviet Armenia and the UK. He is now also involved in language school management.
